Quinn gave 19 years of combined service to SHAES and 38 years to the fire/EMS service. He rose to the ranks of Lieutenant within the paid-on-call ranks of the department. He was also a certified paramedic. In 2017 he was honored as the SHAES Firefighter of the Year. He also was integral to the development and maintenance of the SHAES website over the past decade.

He started his fire career in 1986 with the Covert Fire Department. Along with SHAES, he served on the Holland Township Fire and Ann Arbor Township Fire. He was also a full-time paramedic for Muskegon Pro-Med, Life EMS, Mercy/AMR starting in 1989 to 2000.

He joined SHAES in 1994. He left SHAES in 1996 to pursue a Computer Science degree at Grand Valley State University. He returned to SHAES in 2011.

Both of his parents, mother Pat and father Don, served on the department. His son Ayden joined the department as a paid-on-call member this past March after serving as a cadet while attending high school. Another son, Samuel, also served as a cadet and is currently in Florida pursuing an aircraft maintenance program.

“Tim’s service represents a tremendous amount of dedication and commitment to our department, fire/EMS, and the communities we serve,” said SHAES Chief Brandon Hinz. “I sincerely thank him for his many years of service, leadership, friendship, and everything he has contributed to our department. His time with SHAES has made a difference, and he will be missed.”
