This report cannot possibly capture all of their individual efforts, but does represent an overview of their collective accomplishments. Our purpose is to minimize pain and suffering in our community and we achieve this goal through a range of high quality, professional services such as fire suppression, fire prevention, advanced life support transport service, confined space rescue, dive rescue, ice rescue and fire inspection program.

During the past year, our department has seen the following:

• 2014 call volume surpassed 2,200 calls for service which has increased 28% over the last four years. Our 2011 call volume was 1,647 calls for service
• Albemarle Corporation continues to support our department such as with a recent $10,000 donation for three new Toughbook computers for our emergency medical reporting requirements.
• 12 Lead simulator and mannequin was purchased with grant funds from Entergy
• New stair stepper and cardio-rower was purchased with grant funds from Entergy
• SHAES moved back in to a $2 million dollar renovated station #3
• SHAES began transporting critically ill patients out of town to appropriate hospitals
• SHAES began transporting OB patients out of town after the local OB department closed
• Purchased three cardiac monitors that will transmit EKG’s to local and distant hospitals
• SHAES participated in the Palisades Nuclear Plant table top disaster drill that was graded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Nuclear Regulatory
  Commission
• Staff continues to test 11,750 feet of fire hose annually
• Firefighter Donald Quinn retired after 20 years of dedicated service
• SHAES staff continues to provide EMS and fire coverage for many special events throughout the year including 4th of July fireworks, many 5k events and a salute to our veterans event
